"Winner of SBA Subcontractor of the year 1999 for Region III"

The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Fabric Development, Inc. "Small Business Subcontractor of the Year for region III (Philadelphia)". Five hundred sixty small businesses across the country were nominated for the award.

FDI was nominated by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works for their work on the X-33 program. FDI developed a three dimensional carbon fiber preform which formed the structure for the longerons in the liquid hydrogen tank of the X-33 space launch vehicle. The performance of this preform exceeded most metals at cryogenic temperatures.
